The Darlington FC Under 16’s Girls team are on fire right now

The Darlington FC Under 16’s Girls team are on fire right now, and we’re thrilled to be part of their journey! Unitruck is proud to sponsor such a talented and dedicated group of players, and it’s fantastic to see the success they’re achieving on the pitch.

Here’s an update from their coach.

“First of all we would like to thank Alex and everyone at Unitruck for your sponsorship it means a lot to the girls, coaches and myself. Without your support youth teams would struggle to exist and we are very grateful.

The girls are an extremely talented bunch, with the core having been together since they were 7 years old! They are currently playing a year up which is a big step for the girls in terms of physicality and size.

They are as ever taking it in their stride and currently sit top of the league although bowed out of both cups recently at the quarter final stage.

The girls had a tough start to the season and to date we have played 15 games so far, 10 league games and 5 in the cups. The girls were drawn a lot of the title challangers in there opening fixtures and had a mixed set of results winning 4, drawing 2 and losing 4 games. We have 2 clean sheets and have scored 44 goals with our current top goalscorer Mia Hicks scoring 16 of these goals. We have 8 out of the 14 girls who have all scored goals so far and 8 girls who have all contributed with assists which show that the team all share the same drive and determination and the love of scoring!

Whilst going out of the cups was a tough pill to swallow we went out of both to a very strong Norton & Stockton team who will run us close for the league.

With 6 league games left we look forward to a strong run being able to play more favourable teams to allow us to finish the season strong.
